Our Approach: An Integrated ABA and Therapeutic Model

Our Program

Applied Behavioral Services believes all students are capable of academic achievement and meaningful growth. Serving students in Cincinnati, Dayton, and West Chester, Ohio, our curriculum is aligned with Ohio state standards and supported by documented research showing improved educational outcomes. Through careful assessment and a multidisciplinary approach, we integrate research-based academic and therapeutic supports that meet each student’s individual needs.

Educational & Therapeutic Programming:

Standards-Aligned Instruction

Teachers adapt standards-aligned instruction to each student’s needs, strengths, and goals through individualized, small-group learning.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) uses data-driven techniques to teach new skills and reduce barriers to learning.

Counseling

Students receive individualized counseling support to build coping skills, emotional regulation, and self-awareness.

Social-Emotional Learning

Students practice skills for managing emotions, building relationships, and navigating everyday challenges.

Trauma-Informed Practices

Staff use supportive, relationship-based approaches that promote safety, trust, and emotional well-being.

Multi-tiered System of Supports (MTSS)

Students receive targeted academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports based on their individual needs.

School-Wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)

Students learn and practice positive behaviors through consistent expectations, reinforcement, and support.

Speech-Language Therapy

Students build communication skills through individualized speech and language support.

Occupational Therapy

Students develop skills for greater independence, including fine motor, sensory, and daily living skills.

Transition Readiness

Students build the academic, social, and life skills needed to successfully transition to their next setting, whether that’s a new school, vocational program, higher education, or greater independence.

Real-Life Learning in Real-World Settings

Our campuses provide opportunities for students to strengthen everyday skills that support greater independence, confidence, and success beyond the classroom. Through hands-on practice in familiar, real-world environments, students can develop practical skills they can apply at home, at school, and in their communities.

Facilities include:

Sensory rooms
Dedicated spaces where students can practice self-regulation strategies and access sensory supports in a calm, structured environment

Mock apartment
A realistic apartment setting with a bedroom, kitchen, and laundry area where students can practice everyday living skills such as cooking, cleaning, organizing, and completing household routines.
