Our Application Process

At ABS, we know students can thrive when placement at our school is a decision the entire Individualized Education Plan (IEP) team stands behind. We work hand in hand with district partners to determine appropriate out of district placements for each child and young adult needing additional services. Families can also self-enroll in ABS, using Ohio scholarship programs.

Enrolling Through an Ohio Scholarship Program

Typically, Applied Behavioral Services’ students are referred by the home school districts. However, families may be eligible for scholarship funds to support their child’s special education needs.

Autism Scholarship Program

The Autism Scholarship provides parents with the option to enroll their child in a special education program outside of their local school district while receiving the services outlined in the child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP).

Children with an IEP and a diagnosis of autism may be eligible for the scholarship. Contact us to learn more about enrollment options and processes, including support with the scholarship application.

For additional information about the Autism Scholarship Program, visit the Ohio Department of Education Scholarship page.

Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship

The Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship (JPSN), like the Autism Scholarship, gives parents the option to enroll their child in a special education program outside of their local school district while receiving the services outlined in the child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP).

The JPSN Scholarship offers different funding amounts based on a child’s disability. As a result, the scholarship may not cover the full cost of services at Applied Behavioral Services. Contact us to learn more about the scholarship, enrollment options, and potential costs.

Non-Discrimination Policy

Applied Behavioral Services admits students of any race, color, creed, national or ethnic origin. We do not discriminate by sex, disability, or on any basis prohibited by law.
